In 1875, King William III
ordered this huge chandelier in Paris for the palace Het Loo, the Loo Palace, where
he lived. The chandelier, made of brass with gold plating, turned out to be
unsuitable and was quickly transferred to the former council chamber in the
Amsterdam Royal Palace. At 3 by 2.5 metres in size and weighing 720 kilos, this
is the largest chandelier in the Palace. Would you dare to stand under it…?
