Exhibitions

Every year during summertime, an exhibition is organised about the rich history of the Palace. Ofcourse the Palace is also open for visitors when there is no exhibition on show. You are welcome to discover the building's rich past and legacies left by it's successive occupants - as Amsterdam's Town Hall for 150 years, the French Royal and Imperial Palace for 5 years and the Palace of the House of Orange for the past two centuries

The Universe of Amsterdam 29 June - 22 September 2019

In this exhibition you will learn the story behind the largest maps in the world in the Citizens’ Hall and see the most beautiful maps and atlases made in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.

This summer, the Royal Palace Amsterdam presents a number of unusual protagonists. Discover in five stories how people who are unknown today left an indelible mark on the Palace on Dam Square.

On April 27th, King Willem-Alexander celebrated his 50th birthday. A special exhibit offered an overview of the last 50 years of Dutch history.
