The King at 50

On April 27th, King Willem-Alexander celebrated his 50th birthday.

On Friday evening 28 April 2017, His Majesty the King and Her Majesty Queen Máxima received 150 guests for a birthday dinner at the Royal Palace Amsterdam. After the dinner, the palace was opened to the public for a period of 50 hours. 

A special exhibit offered an overview of the last 50 years of Dutch history, with the help of a variety of objects, including those belonging to the King himself, and video from the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision. The programme will centre on community life in the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
